On American Thanksgiving

War on (the outside, war on) the inside,
And (choose) from the flavors of (Babylon),
To (be the change), to (bring good news), or (not).

I’m thankful for any moment (of peace).
I’m thankful that cat diarrhea isn’t (forever, like) plastic.
I’m thankful for the love (of my husband).

And when I need to feel a resolution,
I can just skip (may I reverently
Hold that power) to the end (of your poem).
